Fuji apples are notoriously sweet, often known to be the sweetest. But the Eastern U.S. growing climate, with its cooler nights, can bring out a bit of tartness, rounding out the flavor.
The bi-colored apple is versatile. Naturally firm, Fuji makes a great out-of-hand eating apple, but then can double as a nice baking and sauce apple. It’s phenomenal sliced on a fruit and cheese plate.
When in doubt of which variety to keep on hand, Fuji is the go-to variety that pleases many palettes.
