The Story

What makes it special

When you think of apples, McIntosh is probably one of the first varieties that comes to mind. A Yankee favorite, it’s as American as apple pie, and it’s an excellent choice for one.

McIntosh is tangy and tart, with tender, ultra-juicy white flesh and a wonderfully classic apple aroma, so beloved that even candles are made to capture its signature scent.

This mid-size apple is also a perfect take-along snack.

Originally discovered in Ontario in the early 1800s, McIntosh entered commercial production in the 1870s. It spread throughout the Northeastern U.S. and west to Michigan, where the cooler climate helps bring out its full flavor.
